Watchers Will Know
 |
Luke 21:34-36
"...Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with
surfeiting, and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you
unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole
earth. Watch ye therefore and pray always that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all
these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of man."

Christians are warned to watch -- themselves
and also the word of prophecy. The day of the Lord will come as a snare upon Christians
who are overcharged with worldly cares or neglect the Word of God and follow leaders
instead. The day of the Lord will also come as a snare on the world who will be unaware of
what events signify.
Leave Babylon
Rev. 18:1-4 "And after these things I saw another
angel come down from heaven, having great power [the returned Lord]; and the earth was
lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the
great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every
foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
"For all nations have drunk of the wine of the
wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,
and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
"And I heard another voice from heaven saying,
Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not
of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her
iniquities."
The mighty angel is our returned Lord. When he returns the
earth is enlightened with truths along every line -- scientific, humanitarian,
philosophical, religious -- which cause the earth to tremble.
The returned Lord has a message against Babylon, false
Christian systems. Because of their unfaithfulness, they are cast off from the Lord's
favor and are due for destruction from plagues. At the same time, the Lord calls his
faithful true saints to leave the false systems so that they may escape the plagues and
not partake of Babylon's sins.
Matt: 24:40-44 "...one shall be taken and the
other left."
There will be a separating of Christians from the
"field" [world] and at the "mill" [theological schools where food is
prepared]. Lk. 17:31-37 A separating of Christians from the "housetop" [the most
spiritual in the churches] and the "bed" [where Christians rest in their faith
in creeds]. Where are they taken? As "eagles" to the "body" of truth.
The sickle of truth does the separating in the harvest, end of the age.
Sup With Lord
Rev. 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.
If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him,
and he with me."
Luke 12:37-40 "Blessed are those servants, whom
the Lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird
himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
"And if he shall come in the second watch, or come
in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
"And this know, that if the good man of the house
had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his
house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an
hour when ye think not."
If someone is knocking at the door, he is present - not on
the way. Faithful Christians will open the door to the Lord, accepting his presence. They
will sup with their returned Lord on rich spiritual truths. We might refuse to hear the
knock, or we might refuse to open the door, but this will not disannul the fact that the
Lord has arrived.
The faithful church will be watching for the Lord's return.
When he returns, they will recognize it and he will serve them with a special feast of
truth. This feast is enjoyed by the watching faithful servants on earth.
Announce Presence
Isa. 52:7,8 "How beautiful upon the mountains are
the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good
tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
"Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the
voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye when the LORD returneth to
Zion." [See Rotherham and Revised Version]
Matt. 25:6,7 "And at midnight there was a cry
made, Behold, the bridegroom has come; go ye out to meet him." [New American Standard
Version]
The church in the flesh at the time of the Lord's return is
given the mission of declaring upon the mountains [kingdoms] the reign of Christ is begun.
They proclaim to Zion [other faithful Christians] the good tidings of the Lord's return.
The "feet" members [last members at the end of
the age] also become the light bearer and instructor of the world. They point out to the
world the cause of the trouble, announce the presence of the new Ruler, and declare the
policy, plan and object of the new dispensation. Though men will not give heed to the
instruction until the lesson of submission has been forced upon them by the trouble, it
will greatly aid them in learning the lesson.
